Independence

Sophia insists on doing things herself.  When it comes to getting dressed, she doesn't allow us to help.  Sometimes it works...

and sometimes it doesn't.

It's That Time Again

It's that time of the year again where we must dust off those cleats and kick the soccer ball around...

Lily was so ready for this day...

Like most always, Sophia needed a little more time to warm up to it...

Still thinking about it...

Lily got right into the thick of things and began kicking the ball around with the boys...

Sophia finally dried her eyes and decided this wasn't too bad after all...

that was, until she got her head stuck in the net after this play...

Lily hung onto every word her coach told her...

and worked hard at all of the drills...

After watching Lily have fun, Sophia had a change of heart and said "I weady now"...

With 5 minutes left in practice, she finally put on her cleats...

By the end of practice, Lily's face was a little red, but a lot of happy...

Heartwarming

The love between a father and his girls...

It's the moments like these that warm my heart and fill it to it's fullest.

Ice Cream and Cupcakes

The Museum of Discovery and the fountains where we had our picnic are right near the River Market.  Being that close, we had to make one last stop...

for these really big ice cream cones...

and for this incredibly yummy red velvet cupcake...

that I enjoyed every little morsel of...

As for those big ice cream cones...

they didn't stand a chance.  Those little girls ate every last bit.  A sweet end to an even sweeter day.
