Who Gets to Wear the Birthday Crown?

It's Lily's turn to wear the Birthday Crown at school today.

Although it is one day early, 

today we will celebrate my 4 year, 364 day old daughter.

When my parents, Sissy and I arrived at school, Lily was arranging a puzzle...

Once done, everyone clapped for her...

Including Jack the dog...

We brought some cupcakes for the class.

Half were vanilla and half were chocolate.

I quickly learned just how much 4 and 5 year old kids like chocolate...

In Mrs. Hardin's class, when it is your birthday, you get to be the leader of all the class activities...

and get a special birthday song sung to you...

and then everyone sings you the traditional Birthday Song...

Sleepy Time

Someone must have played hard today...

Because falling asleep in our recliner is not something Lily typically does.

Sweet dreams tired girl! 

Small Wonder

Lily is currently obsessed with two things..

Her American Girl doll

and Wonder Woman.

When my parents arrived, they gave Lily a gift that was truly the best of both worlds.

Self Portrait

I am not sure what it is, but there is something about phones that just absolutely fascinates children.

Toy creators have done a good job with making "play" phones that look pretty close to the real deal.

But there really is no fooling children.

Sophia is my little techie.

I still like telling the story about how she helped my parents, who while struggling to get the new I-Pad started up, were quickly shown how it works
Not by an employee at the Apple Store, 
But rather by my two-year old, Sophia.


And she's at it once again.
While playing with my mom's phone,
she quickly discovered how to take pictures... 

Then she plans on giving a tutorial like that day in the Apple Store.

Only this time, it's a tutorial for Lily...

Now if only she can give me a tutorial of how my oven works.

Ace in the Hole

Although Sissy is very happy with her haircut and style, there are days that she longs to have lengthy tresses like Rapunzel.  

Since I am not a house that has hair extensions just lying about, Sophia made her own makeshift hair

out of an ACE bandage...  

Not to be outdone, Lily gets her pose on as well...
