Famous Faces

If it weren't for us getting to the baseball game early today...
We would have missed out on an opportunity to see some of the Giants baseball players.
Like Cody Ross...
And Miguel Tejada...
The girls wouldn't have had a chance to make new friends with these kind Cubs fans...
Sophia would have missed out on getting an autograph from a Hall of Fame announcer...
Getting to the game 5 hours early allowed for some pre-game beverages...
At a restaurant with a really great name...
But with only two hours left before the game, it's time to line up to go inside.
Go Giants Go!

A Little Pre-Game

Being a tomboy growing up, I remember sitting and watching baseball and football games with my dad.
Watching the games on television was always fun and exciting.
But nothing beats watching these athletes live.

So today I pass on this tradition to my girls.
Baseball is an American pastime after all.
I just wanted to make sure my girls were dressed to root for the appropriate team...
A little family tradition being passed on...
Two years ago when we were in Chicago, we saw a Cubs game at Wrigley.
We rode the train to Wrigley then, and in keeping with tradition, we rode it again today...
One of the classic ballparks of all time...
Whenever my dad and I would attend a game, it was always tradition to get to the game early to experience the pre-game festivities.
Today we arrived early enough to stop and eat lunch at a famous Chicago venue...
Lucky's is sure to be a go to spot next time we are in town for a game...
Joe stuck with a tradition he knows all too well...
Overeating...
I carry on traditions that made me happy as a child in the hopes that it does the same for my girls...
It's these traditions that make for the lasting childhood memories.

Chicago Nights

We have been extremely fortunate that the daytime weather has been ideal since being downtown.
It's been in the upper 70's to low 80's.
Perfect walking weather to see the sights...
But the nights have been pretty darn spectacular as well.
Sightseeing at night in Chicago gives you extra little treats that you would miss during the day.
For instance, the fountain that the girls love to splash in during the day also lights up during the night...
The famous bean is also a little bit more miraculous in the evening hours...
And you would surely miss this purple light atop the building during the day...
Lovely Chicago days.
Perfect Chicago nights.
