The Postponed Party

After two years of snowed out birthday parties, I learned my lesson and put it off until March.
Of course the one year I try to be proactive, the weather turns out being more mild than any winter I have ever experienced here.
Oh well, better to be safe than sorry.
Lily was okay with the postponement.
It meant that she got to celebrate being six a number of times...
We were happy that so many of the invitees were able to attend.
I made sure it was big this year considering this would be Lily's last birthday celebration with this great group of friends...
I think in all, there were about 33 kids.
A huge turnout
and hugely successful.
Happy Birthday (again) my Liliana!

Tooth Be Told

Lily complained that her mouth was hurting.
No wonder.
I took one look inside and discovered where her pain was coming from.
Check out the monstrosity looming behind her baby tooth...
That's her adult tooth trying to grow in before her baby tooth has even fallen out.
Or gotten loose for that matter.

FYI: One month later, her baby tooth still is not loose.
The dentist is going to give her until the summer.
Most likely he is going to have to pull the baby tooth.
Along with three others.
OUCH!

I Speak for the Trees

Our open house is today.
That meant the girls and I had some time to kill on this rainy day.
There's not much that is better to do than go to a movie on a dreary day.
We went to see the Lorax.
In 3-D...
The last 3D movie we saw was a couple of years ago.
After seeing meatballs flying at their head, the girls avoided 3D movies like the plague.
Not sure what made them decide to see one today.
It was a kick watching them reach for every animated object that came their way.
They loved it and can't wait for their next 3D adventure.

Open House

Our house has only been on the market for a few days, but our realtor wanted to do an open house...
Even with all of the rain, we still had a very good showing.
About 13 couples in all.
They all had really great things to say about the house.
Now one of them just needs to buy it.

For Sale

It's official,
our house is for sale...
There are many great memories I have with this house.
But I look forward to the new life and new memories we will make in Texas.

New house

Our house hunting in Texas did not last very long.
As a matter of fact, it took only a day.
We did not end up in Sugarland, but instead opted to live just outside of Sugarland in a town known as Richmond.
Although Sugarland has great schools, the houses available were about 15-20 years old.
Not the best scenario for an asthmatic.
Luckily Richmond has great schools and new construction houses.
This is the little area we found and fell in love with...
The development is filled with all of these man made lakes...
It has a community center with a pool, tennis courts, weight room and playground...
This is the street we will be living on.
My grandma used to be a Lombardo, so it should be easy to remember...
The house is in the very early stages, but should be done Mid-May.
Although you can't tell by the outside, it's actually quite large:
It is 1 1/2 stories; 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, media room, great room and 3552 square feet...
This is the view from the girl's play room...
Our backyard.
It's not nearly as big as our current one, but this has two things the other did not have:
1. fenced in
2. No snakes...
Our guest bathroom...
Thankfully the garbage is not included...
When we informed the girls that this would be our new house, Lily was a little bummed.
She asked me, "We are going to live in this dirty house?  Why did we buy this dirty house?"
After much reassurance that it would be clean when we moved in, she tentatively let herself get a little excited.
