Although we were still going to be in Illinois for another week and a half, most of the other visiting family had to head back to their homes in California.
With it just being us three girls, I knew that we could have a fun filled day geared towards a five and three year old's likes.
Our first stop was the Schaumburg library...
The girls love visiting the library and this one in particular could not be any cuter...
Sophia was especially fond of the frog...
And hoped that kissing it would make it turn into a handsome prince...After 10 minutes of playing, it was story time...
From story time, the girls then went on to make a crafty project...
While making spiders, the girls also made a friend...
But all that work caused us to be hungry, so the girls along with their spiders, aptly named "Apple Pancake" (Sophia) and "Itsy Bitsy" (Lily), walked to get lunch...
The girls were mesmerized by the fountains near the ice cream parlor, so we had to stop to watch them dance (the water, not the girls)...
Pizza was what the girls wanted to whet their appetites.
Lou's was the obvious choice...
Lily and Sophia wanted to go back to the ice cream parlor for a sweet treat, so that was where we went...
After getting distracted along the way by the plump, red berries...
Once here, the girls got vanilla ice cream with sprinkles...
We wanted to enjoy the ice cream by the water, but this nosy duck wouldn't allow for that...
So after a few hours on our own, we headed back to Grandma Owie's hotel.
Full tummies, happy children, tired legs and a quiet house made for a perfect napping opportunity.
Our full day was sure to lead to many happy dreams.
