Blanketed in Love

Love is shown in many forms.
But being wrapped in the warmth of a blanket made by your grandma is one of the best ways to really feel the love...
Even from far away Maddie can feel your hugs, especially when wrapped tightly in your beautiful blanket.
Thank you Ditado.

Chef Maddie

It's always a mystery as to what your child will grow up to do when they get older...
Will they be a writer?
Or a teacher?
Or maybe follow in their Ditado's footsteps and be a nurse.
Perhaps they will be none of those and instead opt for a culinary career...
Chef Maddie
I like the way that sounds.
Now get in the kitchen and cook me some dinner!

She Deserves It

There was a citizenship award given for "Responsibility and Positive Attitude"...
Sophia was awarded this honor.
I can't think of a child more deserving.
Way to go Sissy!

Sleepy Time

It's no wonder why I don't get much done during the day...
There's no better feeling than snuggling in with your baby.

A Weekend Away

Joe's work is having a party to recognize all of the achievements of their managers.
There will be golf during the day and an adult dinner at night.
The best part of this is that we get to make it a family trip in Galveston...
Before Joe went for the golfing part of the day, we explored the beach...
With Joe gone golfing for the majority of the day, we ventured over to the Boardwalk for some fun times...
Within a few hours, Grandma and Papa caught up with us...
Maddie was just ecstatic to be free from her stroller...
We promised the girls more time seashell hunting on the beach.
Bright and early the next morning, we were out on the sandy beach enjoying the crisp weather...
There were plenty of seashells to choose from.
I'm pretty sure we took home half of the beach and even one tiny crab.
This was the perfect weekend getaway for the entire family.

In Stitches

With very active children, you are bound to get a few bumps or scrapes.
Many of these bumps can be fixed with a band aid and mommy's kiss.
This one could not...
It was our first hospital visit.
While showering, Sophia had her foot on the step and it slipped off when it became too soapy.
When her foot slipped, her chin whacked right on the edge of that step.
Luckily Joe was there to intervene.
He kept calm (unlike myself)
and wasn't fazed by the blood (unlike myself).
We dried her off and got her into the car.
Joe took her up to the local ER while I stayed home with Lily and Maddie.
Lily was very concerned for Sophia and made her Rainbow loom bracelets to cheer her up.
Within 40 minutes, Sophia came home with a popsicle in one hand, a stuffed bear in the other, five stitches in her chin and a smile on her face.
She never cried.
Not even while the stitches were being put in.
That's my girl.
So tough.

After having the stitches for a few days, she was sad to have them removed.
She said they made her popular.
She asked when she could get them again.
Hopefully never!

Sometimes I just have to let her explore...

"You help me"

There truly is nothing more heartwarming than finding sweet notes left from a little sister to her big sister...
