Water We Going to Do Now?

Many of the memories that were made during the summer of 2009 were made here at the water park

A bathing suit and pink floppy hat were good indicators that we were water bound...

Yummy snacks were always packed, but it still seemed that Lily and Sophia liked the Deschamps family's snacks better (even when they were the same).

Lily was always excited to get to play in the water

But she was never more excited than when she knew her best friend, Olive, would be there as well.

With summer coming to an end in just a few days, it is time to say goodbye to the water park and pack the bathing suits away.
Here's to the beautiful Arkansas Fall, pumpkin patches and lightweight jackets.

Slightly Jaded

In my quest to paint all of the rooms in our house, I have finally finished room number four, the half bathroom.
Before we painted, it was a nice cocoa color

But I found it to be a bit boring

We brightened it up with "Pale Jade"

Although I am happy with the end result, let's just say that I learned a few things from painting this bathroom that I would like to share with you.

#1. Never, and I mean NEVER, paint a room yellow that has zero natural light coming in (i.e. windows). Yellow was our initial choice for this room. We quickly found out how big of a mistake that was.

#2. Just because it's a "small" space does not mean it is going to be easier to paint. Small = tight space and no room for a ladder.

#3. Finally, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." This room is rarely used and could have been left alone, but my mission got the best of me.

Miss Mischevious

In the evening, after everyone has wound down and drifted off to dreamland, I really enjoy the peace and quiet. However, when you have two small children who are awake in the middle of the afternoon and it is quiet, be afraid, be very afraid! Silence is never golden with two little ones and it usually means they are up to something. Did I say "usually"? I meant ALWAYS!

This particular morning, Sophia was being as quiet as a mouse. Apparently she was a hungry mouse...

Sophia has never been one to let anything keep her from getting what she wants. Where there's a will, there's a way.

She found what she wanted...whole wheat pasta

Oops! Busted!

You would have thought I learned my lesson, but later in the day, Sophia was noticeably quiet again.

Floss anyone??

Through the Eyes of a Three-Year Old

Lily really enjoys taking pictures...

But she loves to be in them even more!

A Cow of a Different Color

Lunch time is a necessity for all of us and who better to spend it with than our friends!? Madison is one of Lily's "oldest" friends. Lily met Madison at the ripe age of ten months when the two of them were in music class together. Although other classes have come and gone, we still try to get them together as often as we can. Now that they are going to the same school, this will be quite easy.

For lunch on this particular Tuesday afternoon, we chose to eat at The Purple Cow. Who doesn't like a great burger and purple malt??

Burgers+Malts+dear "Old" Friends= A wonderful Tuesday afternoon

Sisterly Love

There will be Fights!

There will be Tears!

There will be Tattling!

There may even be Bruises!

But at least I know, there will Always be

LOVE!

Kissing Cousins

When I found out that Joe's cousin, Pat and his wife, Christal were coming to town, I was eager to see them again. It had been a while since we last saw them and their daughter, Erin.
We decided to get together for dinner. When we saw them, we immediately started chatting about all of the things going on in our lives.

Meanwhile, the girls got to know each other over a bowl of olives.

After dinner, the girls went off with their daddies and played games while Christal and I chatted some more.

Everyone came back to the table extremely happy.

Apparently, Joe used his skill at the games and won the 500 ticket jackpot. So each of the girls got a sucker

and the older girls got bubbles.

The girls were having so much fun that we all decided to go back to our house where the fun continued.

Lily and Erin dressed up like royalty in their princess dresses, crowns and shoes.

Not to be outdone by the older girls, Sophia also got into the act.
Although Erin and Lily had met once before, they were at an age where it would be hard for them to remember one another. After the fun they had tonight, I doubt they will ever forget each other!

Simply Sissy

Back in February, we had made a trip out to California to visit family. My sister-in-law, Kristin, or as she is more fondly known as by Lily, "Mama Dubs", was also there visiting. One day we were just hanging out and Mama Dubs decided to take some pictures of the girls. Sophia decided to ham it up and had her own personal photo session. These are the wonderful pictures from that day...

Mama Dubs, I thank you for these precious memories!
