Success Assembly

It's the end of the first quarter at Lily's school.
To celebrate the end of each quarter, they have an assembly to recognize the kids successes.
I had planned on being there from the beginning.
I made sure Joe came along when Lily's teacher informed me that she was going to be receiving "a lot of awards."

So today, unbeknownst to Lily, Joe and I showed up at her school.
This particular Success Assembly was only for the first grade classes.
After all, there are over 120 kids in first grade here.

There were a total of five different awards given out:
#1: Perfect Attendance (no absences)
#2: "A/B" Honor Roll (all A's and B's)
#3: "A" Honor Roll (all A's)
#4: Lead Husky Award (child must have perfect attendance, all A's and all Excellent's in their behavior report.  Basically a leader to the rest of the pack)
#5: Citizenship Award (This award was given to two children in each class.  To receive this award, you had to exhibit the following characteristics: Respect, Kindness, Leadership qualities, Willingness to help others)

Lily received the following awards:
Perfect Attendance
"A" Honor Roll
Lead Husky Award
and the one I am most proud of because it shows that she is not only smart, but also such a wonderful friend to her peers...
Citizenship Award...
There's a certain pride that goes along with being a parent when your child gets these kinds of recognition.
It shows me that my child works hard, takes pride in what she does, sets a good example and above all else, is just a good person.
As a mom, there is not much else you can ask for.
