Tea for Two

I was invited to have tea with a pretty important person today...
As a mom, it is normally our job to spoil our children and make them feel special, but today, the roles were reversed...
Sophia and her class had been working for many weeks on this Mother's Day program.
I have never known of a teacher doing so much for her student's mommies.

Upon arrival, my sweet Sophia greeted me at the door...
She escorted me to my seat.
My place was all set.
I had a teacup filled with hugs and kisses and a beautiful place mat decorated by my little girl.
My name wasn't written on the place card, but rather a title that I was proud to wear,
"Sophia's Mommy"...
Already feeling like a queen, Sophia then presented me with my crown...
and a single pink carnation...
The kids, with their crocheted crowns and tiaras, then brought us to tears with the songs they sang and the poems they recited...
Then we watched a video where our babies pictures were put on the screen...
and we listened as each child made their declaration of their love for us...
As I dabbed at my tears from hearing Sophia's loving words, we finally got to sit and sip our special tea...
Then we played a game of "Guess Who's Mommy This Is"
This is me, Sophia's Mommy.
I am the potato with the big lips...
Every day I know how lucky I am to have the beautiful children I do.
Today I got to see just how much love they have for me.
With these incredible kids by my side, I don't want for anything.
My heart is full.
