Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

We all know Dr. Seuss.
Many of us have a favorite book by him.
Some of us may have even forgotten how genius he was.
But have been reminded once again while reading our favorite old stories to our children.

Even though many of his stories could be seen as quite silly.
He also had a way with words.
There was a sort of inspiration and reassurance behind his words.

Below are some of my favorite Seuss-isms:

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself, any direction you choose.

Today you are you, that is truer than true.
There is no one alive who is youer than you.

And will you succeed?
Yes indeed, yes indeed!
 Ninety-eight and three-quarters percent guaranteed.

The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.

Think left and think right and think low and think high.
Oh, the things you can think up if only you try!

You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams

Be who you are and say what you feel,
because those who mind don’t matter,
and those who matter don’t mind.

So here's to you Dr. Seuss...

Thank you for your genius!

Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel
1904-1991
