Use Your Noodle

Last week the girls had a substitute swim instructor.
Lily really wanted nothing to do with him.
And Sophia played Damsel in Distress for most of the lesson.
She charmed the instructor into doing all of the work for her.
I'm not even sure she bothered to kick her legs.

After that fiasco, I kind of felt like the girls had taken a step back in their progress.
But today was a new day and Miss Mary Kate was back...

Today Mary Kate incorporated a noodle into the lesson...

And Sophia kicked really hard to get herself around the pool...
The girls also used a kick board...
Lily was determined...
Sophia just giggled the whole time...
They learned new form when "diving"into the pool...
Then swam back to the wall all by themselves...
Today the girls looked to be back in swim mode.
Sophia summed it up just how I would have
with a BIG...
Thumbs up!
Great job girls!

Walk the Plank

There is still a lot to be done.
But at least the floors are in.
I was trying to hold back until EVERYTHING was complete.
But then I realized that may be weeks from now.

So here they are.
The BEFORE:
 And the AFTER:
Stay tuned for more.
Hopefully in the near future.

Hitchcock Who?

We are all familiar with that famous scene from the movie "Psycho."
You know which one I am referring to, right!?
The famous shower scene.

Now close your eyes and try to picture it.

Janet Leigh is taking a shower.
Of course she thinks she is alone because why wouldn't she be?
Next thing you know the shower curtain is ripped open.
There is a man wielding a knife.
You hear the sound of "Ree Ree Ree."
Next thing you know, the chocolate syrup is going down the drain.

Scary, isn't it?

I had a "Psycho" moment of my own at my house.
(Warning: The following photo may be too scary for some)...
Are you scared?
It scared the crap out of me.

Be Careful!
You never know what evil lurks behind your shower curtain.

A New Outfit

In case you haven't noticed, my blog got a whole new look to it.
I like to think of it as taking my blog shopping (online of course) and buying it a new outfit.
We'll call this her "Spring Look".

Doesn't she look FANTASTIC?!

Have Some Class

I am heading back to school.
I couldn't be more elated.
Tonight I am starting a four week photo class.
It is something I have had a strong desire to do since getting my Canon.

My pictures have come a long way since having my camera.
I am not sure if that has to do with the camera or the person behind it.
Regardless, I have A LOT to learn.

I am hoping to learn new tricks over the next four weeks.
Mostly though, I want to learn to shoot pictures outside of the "automatic" function.

By the end of four weeks I know I will not be opening a photo studio, but I am looking forward to more aesthetically appealing pictures.
And of course to learn fun new ways of capturing the beauty of my girls.

Time to Kick It

Lily is still riding high from the end of last soccer season.
All because of that one "goal" she scored.
I am hoping the excitement continues because soccer season has once again begun.

So we got dressed and headed out to the soccer fields.
See the pink jacket Lily's wearing?
She picked it out because
"It looks like a uniform and
you need a uniform to play soccer"...

Sophia just wanted to wear purple...

Tonight Lily practiced with a lot of the same kids from last year.
It was nice to see all of those familiar faces...
Sophia found a new friend to play with.
They were immediately inseparable...
Until the little girl climbed to the top bleacher.
Sophia was told not to go any higher up.
These are the pitiful looks I got...

Then they just moved over to the bench...
My pink faced Lily post practice...
Lily practiced hard tonight.
I am hoping that this new season starts the way the last one ended.

Tiny Gymnast

I'm pretty sure we will NOT be receiving any calls from the U.S Olympic Team anytime soon, but that's ok because look how happy she is...
