A Taste of Chicago

It was day one downtown and we really had no planned agenda.
We were all just really happy to be there...
The girls weren't used to the noisy, bustling city streets...
But all the city noise didn't hinder their excitement...
We walked just enough to build up our appetites.
Then made this stop #1...
Sophia went over the food vendor map for us so we knew where to eat first...
The girl's settled for a slice of pizza.
The first of which they shared...
But it was so delicious that they each had to get an additional piece.
There would be no sharing this time around...
I also went for the pizza.
I'm just glad the girl's were full by then because I really did not want to share either...
Once everyone had found their food of choice, we were set to begin walking again.
However, my mom quickly realized that her sandals, although cute, were not great for walking.
Lucky for her, there was a person selling different merchandise near by.
Unlucky for her, this was the only choice of flip flop that they had...
My dad immediately warned my mom to be careful because they may fall apart.
Just like the Cubs baseball team typically do in the eighth inning :)

Joe made me stop and pose in front of the flowers...
Then we all stopped in front of Buckingham Fountain...
Enough time had passed from lunch that it was dessert time...
Then a walk along Lakeshore Drive gave us a chance to take in more of Chicago's breathtaking views...
It also allowed more time for Lily and Papa to chat...
I couldn't think of a better way, or place, to catch up with our loved ones.
