Memphis, Here We Come

Jen and I got this crazy idea the other day. We thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be a great idea to pack up the girls and go somewhere for the day?" Being the crazy moms we are, we did indeed pack them into Jen's van, along with numerous goodies that we could bribe them with later, and left for Memphis...

As Jen drove off, we figured that two hours from then, we would be in Memphis, Tennessee. Little did we know that 28 minutes later, we would be stopping for a potty break (for Lily, of course). Once their little bladders were emptied, we got back on the road. Two hours and a few minutes later, Jen's van found it's way to Costco. Yes, that's right, we drive two hours to go to a Costco and it's always worth the trip! We all ate a healthy lunch of hot dogs and pizza and then we were ready to shop. We needed to think of something to keep the wee ones occupied. What else, but with ice cream...
Of course I would have chosen vanilla, but Jen felt daring and adventurous that day and went with chocolate instead...

The ice cream plan bought us enough time to get about halfway through the store and then the girls wanted out. Apparently so that they could climb on the orange juice...

Then on to the ponies...

As we finished up at Costco, the girls saddled up and we headed off into the sunset for our next destination...
The rest of the day was spent doing more shopping and hunting for great deals. Then we ate one more time, loaded four cranky girls into the car and headed back to Little Rock. I would love to say that the ride home was uneventful, but then I would be lying.
The ride was MOSTLY uneventful with Jen and I doing a lot of chatting and some heart to hearts, but that all came to a screeching halt when the blue lights started flashing behind us. Yep, two women with four little girls in a mini van were getting pulled over. The cop was nice enough to let us go. But did you know that the inside of a police car is really small? Just ask Jen, she knows!
Even with four cranky girls and a brush with the law, I wouldn't take back this day for anything. It made me see why I adore my great friend so much! Thanks for the fantastic memories! Let's do this again sometime.
