Family Day

Each year, Union Pacific chooses one day to focus on the people that support their workers and their crazy hours, their families. Last year we were unable to make it because we were back in California, so I really did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw upon arriving...
Joe had told me that there would be a train, but I expected a small train that ran around an even smaller track. I wasn't expecting to see an exact replica of the trains that they use, only scaled down...
Before we could even think about eating, Lily insisted that we ride this really cool train first...

After the train ride, we got a chance to sample the food they provided and then the girls got their hands "painted." Lily didn't want anything on her cheek and the paint was really a marker. Nonetheless, the girls were excited...

No family day would be complete without an inflatable slide and bounce houses...

Once Lily conquered the slide, we took the girls to the bounce house...

Sophia LOVED it!!!

In order to get the girls to come out, we had to entice them with sweet treats, like cotton candy...

All in all, it was a great family day. We ate, played, and even walked away with a few freebies. The girls got suckers, Joe got work boots and I got chip clips! But that wasn't all, Sophia walked away with an even bigger prize, a $50 Best Buy gift certificate that she won in a drawing.
Thank you U.P. for celebrating the families of your workers. Although there are times you see them more than their families, nobody loves them more than we do!
