Rendezvous in Memphis

The sound of blues music playing, the smell of world famous ribs filling the air and great shopping, where else could we be but Memphis, Tennessee. This morning, we hopped into the car and made the two hour jaunt across the Tennessee border with high hopes that we would find some great deals and even better food. Thankfully, we found both.

We began our trip at Costco. Yes that's right, I am willing to drive two hours to go to the big warehouse with the big deals. We walked around the store tasting all of the samples, finding decor for our house and most importantly, we found what we came for...my new Canon Rebel camera! (Just a side note, the following pictures were not taken with said camera because I still have to figure it out)

Next up, we went to the Pottery Barn Outlet and were slightly disappointed with what we didn't find there, good deals. Have no fear though, we found PLENTY next door at the Williams-Sonoma outlet store. As we left, my mom said that it felt like we just had a bridal shower with all of the stuff we got, but how could we resist the great deals?

As you can see, we didn't...

We then walked over to Target to waste some time while Lily slept soundly in the stroller. It didn't take long for Sophia to find some boots that she liked.

Finally, we made our way downtown to go eat at the famous Rendezvous restaurant

where ribs are the specialty.

Joe enjoyed these special ribs

and wasn't too happy when I interrupted his eating

As always, Sophia enjoyed the food.

Lily was super excited to see all of the horses and buggies lining the street, but could barely contain herself when she saw "Cinderella's carriage."

She wanted to go for a ride in it, but knew that it was going to have to go soon to pick Cinderella up from the ball and she didn't want to keep Cinderella waiting.

With the blast of music in the air, we headed towards Beale Street to experience the night life. The girls stopped to dance to the music and of course, the people stopped to watch them.

No trip to Memphis is complete without some sign of the King

even if it is in the form of duck feet outside the famous Peabody Hotel.

Who knew that so much fun could be found just a mere two hours away?!
